Dreo 813S vs HM713S vs HM717S: compare the 6-liter hybrids
The HM813S/813S, HM713S and HM717S all appear in Dreo’s cool-and-warm smart-humidifier family, but the model number alone is not a useful ranking. Start with the tank size and the exact model code, then decide whether a warm option, app control and the upkeep fit your room.
Capacity is the clearest published difference
Dreo markets the 813S as 6 liters and its filed technical table also says 6 liters, but the same page specification row says “3 quarts.” That conflict means the 813S does not meet a strict six-liter minimum in this finder. The 713S is also marketed at 6 liters. Compare its exact review and manual rather than using the unresolved 813S capacity as an exact band. The 717S is listed at 8 liters and therefore represents the larger-reservoir choice on Dreo’s model pages. More water may mean fewer refills in a given setting, but it does not guarantee a particular number of nights: output, temperature mode, room dryness and ventilation change consumption.
The 813S page advertises up to 45 hours, without naming the setting or test conditions. Do not compare that headline with another model’s “up to” figure as if they were measured under the same setup.
Warm mist changes the care and safety routine
All three are presented as cool/warm models. For the 813S, Dreo lists up to 300 mL/h cool and 500 mL/h warm in the model-code-linked manual table; those are maker specifications rather than independent output tests. Its FAQ says warm operation uses water faster, and the manual warns that the outlet may be hot. Before choosing a hybrid, ask whether you will use warm mist enough to justify the heated path and its extra cleaning attention. If not, compare the 6-liter cool-only HM524S instead.
The 813S manual’s cover says HM723 even though its technical page specifies DR-HHM013S; Dreo’s FCC label filing names HM813S / DR-HHM013S. The 713S has its own manual code, DR-HHM003S, while the 717S is a distinct 8-liter model. Keep those identities separate. The 813S product page also gives conflicting room figures—500 square feet in the specification table versus a 215–430-square-foot caution in the FAQ—so its coverage stays unknown for a strict room threshold.
Controls and placement
The 813S listing supports app compatibility and Auto mode, with buttons and an LED display shown in its filed manual. Its listed body is 13.94 inches tall, 6.14 inches wide and 11.42 inches deep. The manual describes a level, water-resistant location with clearance from walls and objects and raised placement rather than sitting directly on a carpet or floor. Check each model’s own guide for exact placement and cleaning instructions instead of transferring one manual’s advice to another.
For all three, Dreo recommends purified or distilled water and routine cleaning. The 813S manual says to clean its reservoir every three days. Its oil route is a separate aroma pad—not the water tank. The page’s box list does not include a remote control, so choose another model if a physical remote is essential.
Two bundles still use the same 717S humidifier
Dreo also sells the 717S in its current Cozy Comfort Set with the 711S heater and Cool Comfort Set with the 516S air conditioner. The package records retain the same black or silver humidifier SKU used by the standalone 717S listing, so these are bundle choices rather than extra humidifier configurations. Pick either set only if its companion appliance is useful; this humidifier comparison does not assess the heater or air conditioner, and it does not establish that their controls work together.
Short decision
- 813S: 6-liter advertised capacity, warm/cool choice, app/Auto and top fill; room and reservoir details conflict within the product page.
- 713S: another 6-liter hybrid with its own DR-HHM003S manual; compare exact instructions and controls rather than treating it as identical.
- 717S: the larger stated 8-liter hybrid if extra reservoir capacity matters; review its model-specific placement and care limits.
If your requirement is an exact area rating, a specific ultrasonic mechanism, an exact target ceiling or a guaranteed runtime, these headline comparisons do not settle it. Select only on confirmed features and use your room’s actual humidity and safe operating location to guide placement.
