Dreo comparison
Dreo HM306 vs HM306S: standard controls or app settings?
The Dreo HM306 and HM306S are close in size and name, but the standard version and Smart WiFi version solve different control needs. Dreo’s U.S. listing identifies the plain HM306 as DR-HHM006 and the 306S as DR-HHM006S. Keep those product identities separate when checking an offer or a box label; a similar shell is not proof that app control or every manual detail carries over.
HM306: local touch and display control
The standard HM306 is a 3-liter top-fill ultrasonic cool-mist humidifier. Dreo specifies touch control and its official product imagery shows a humidity display. The product FAQ describes Auto stopping mist once the room reaches the humidity target, but does not establish an exact numeric target range for this standard model. The displayed number and the Auto stop are useful distinctions; do not assume they amount to app control, a timer or a chosen RH target.
Its reason to choose the standard model is simple: the controls are on the unit and the listing presents Smart WiFi as a separate version. If you want to avoid app and network setup, select the HM306 listing and verify DR-HHM006 on the exact offer. The separate HM306 review covers its four finish SKUs, water-care limitations and remaining unknowns.
HM306S: connected settings, still a 3-liter plan
The HM306S keeps the 3-liter scale but adds the Smart WiFi arrangement. Its separate Dreo listing and product record identify Smart Humidifier 306S 3L; a Dreo-authored manual transcription identifies DR-HHM006S. That is the version to assess when app control or voice linking changes your routine. It brings network setup and account-related steps that the standard HM306 avoids. Its exact manual and product-page details—including noise text that conflicts—belong to the S-model assessment, not this one.
What should stay the same in your comparison
Dreo lists both in the 3-liter 306 family and states an upper area figure of 300 square feet for the standard page. Those maker figures are starting points, not a promise for an open floor plan or every ceiling height. A 3-liter tank does not mean a fixed number of hours: Dreo ties the standard unit’s up-to-30-hour statement to Sleep mode, and output conditions change water use. Both are cool mist, so a warm-mist requirement rules out both. For more reservoir capacity, look at the standard HM524 6L; for an app-connected larger configuration, compare its exact S-model sibling rather than inferring one from another model’s name.
Let essential needs change the result
In the finder, an essential app-control answer should change eligibility: “no app/network” can include HM306 and exclude HM306S, while “app needed” reverses that distinction. A 3-liter minimum does not separate them. A requirement for a specific custom humidity percentage should not automatically pass either model unless the exact operating instructions establish how to choose it. Similarly, neither model fits a warm-mist essential condition. This is why selecting by suffix alone is less useful than asking which real control path and output mode you require.
