Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I require app-connected remote settings and an adjustable Auto target?
Yes. The manual documents VeSync remote control and a customizable Auto target, with a 40–50% RH default range.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the manual identify removable parts that are dishwasher-safe?
Yes, for the tank, cover, filter housing, nozzle, float and silencer only; the sponge and electrical base are excluded.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require an essential-oil route that keeps oil out of the tank?
Yes. The manual directs optional fragrance oil to the base chamber, not the water tank.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I choose my own humidity target instead of using only a fixed preset?
Yes. VeSync allows a custom Auto Mode target; the manual lists 40–50% RH as its default range.
Explore this need in the finder →The Levoit Dual 200S pairs a 3-liter top-fill tank with sensor-based Auto mode and VeSync app control. Its 107–290-square-foot manufacturer-stated range and up-to-25-hour minimum-mist claim match the Dual 150’s headline capacity figures, but the controls and care options are different: the 200S offers an adjustable target and app schedules, and its manual lists several—not all—removable parts as dishwasher-safe.
Physical controls plus a connected option
The appliance’s buttons cycle through Auto, low and high mist, while a percentage display shows humidity readings. In Auto mode the sensor changes output or stops misting to maintain 40–50% relative humidity by default. The VeSync app can change the target and Auto settings, check reported humidity, control the unit remotely, set schedules and timers, and connect to Alexa or Google Assistant. Levoit cautions that app features can change, so confirm current device, network and app requirements if connectivity is a must.
One operational detail is easy to miss: the manual says the timer must be set in VeSync. The physical buttons still handle basic operation, but the app is needed for the documented timer and scheduling functions. If you want sensor-based control without account or network setup, the Dual 100 has a simpler Sleep Mode with a fixed 60% target; if you prefer a knob and no app layer, the Dual 150 is the manual alternative.
Auto mode is not a whole-room guarantee. The unit senses the air around itself; a reading at the appliance does not prove that a distant corner, adjoining room or open floor plan has the same relative humidity. The manual says Auto mode may stop misting when the selected target is met, and it will not start if humidity is above the target. That is the intended control behavior, not evidence of a malfunction.
Aroma uses the base chamber, not the tank
The manual permits 10–15 drops of essential oil in the base chamber for fragrance, while it separately says not to pour water into the base chamber. Follow the specific oil instructions rather than treating the tank and base as interchangeable reservoirs. Levoit’s product page describes the same base-chamber route. This is not a general-purpose oil diffuser; do not put oil in the water tank or treat fragrance as a reason to skip rinsing and drying the machine.
Dishwasher wording is component-specific
Unlike the Dual 150, the Dual 200S manual allows the water tank, tank cover, filter housing, nozzle, float and silencer in a dishwasher. It specifically excludes the water-filter sponge, which can discolor, and the electrical base must never be immersed. “Dishwasher-safe parts” therefore means the named pieces only, not the whole appliance or every item in the water path. Check the manual’s cleaning sequence and remove the sponge before using that option.
Levoit lists a 0.79-gallon / 3-liter tank, up to 25 hours on low mist, an effective range of 107–290 square feet, 24 watts, at most 28 dB, and dimensions of 7.1 by 7.1 by 11.8 inches. The stated weight is 3 pounds. These are maker specifications rather than measured performance; a higher mist level or a different room can change refill frequency. The built-in percentage display and app monitor a point near the machine, not the entire home.
Still a water-and-cleaning appliance
The manual recommends purified or distilled water and says to change the water daily. Clean the tank and base chamber weekly and before storing; the manual’s descaling procedure uses distilled white vinegar and a 15–20-minute soak. It also requires a level, water-resistant surface at least 12 inches from walls and mist directed away from furniture, bedding and electronics. Remove the tank before moving the unit, and never fill the base chamber directly with water.
The larger feature set does not replace those habits. If an app reminder helps you remember changes, that may be useful, but no schedule can inspect the water or clean the machine for you. If the humidifier is going unused for a week or more, the manual says to drain it, clean and dry it instead of leaving water inside.
Who should compare the Dual 100 and 150?
Choose the Dual 100 if the smaller tank, button indicators and fixed sensor-based Sleep Mode sound more useful than a phone app; remember its manual and page disagree about where to put oil. Choose the Dual 150 if you want a physical dial and 3-liter capacity without Auto or app functions; its current product page’s oil promotion conflicts with the linked white-version manual’s water-only instruction. The 200S is the only model in this three-product group with documented custom Auto targets, app scheduling, voice control and a named list of dishwasher-safe parts. It is the most configurable, not necessarily the least work to own.
The current product page has a white SKU, HEAPHULVSUS0035, but its specification block and store metadata show different UPCs; do not resolve identity from the barcode alone. The user manual names the product Dual 200S and supplies the operating facts assessed here. This is a documentation-based review, not a hands-on test. Paper, software and setup details
Manufacturer noise claim
At most 28 dB; manufacturer claim with no mist level attached.
Manufacturer cleaning interval
Change water daily; clean the tank and base chamber weekly and before storage.
Water and care limits
Purified or distilled water is recommended. Manual directs 10–15 drops of oil to the base chamber, not the water tank. The tank, cover, filter housing, nozzle, float and silencer are dishwasher-safe; never put the water-filter sponge or electrical base in a dishwasher, and never immerse the base. Follow manual vinegar descaling and do not pour water directly into the base chamber.
