Three model needs

OasisMist 450S, 600S and 1000S: heat, tank and handset

The OasisMist 450S, 600S and 1000S share app-connected ultrasonic control, but they are not just three tank sizes. The 450S and 600S add warm-mist operation; the 1000S is a cool-mist tower with an included physical remote and a much larger reservoir. Start with the operating mode and refill load you will accept, then compare each maker-stated area claim with the exact room conditions rather than treating it as a guarantee.

The useful differences at a glance

The 450S has a 4.5-liter tank and a published up-to-45-hour low-mist runtime. The 600S is listed at 6 liters and up to 60 hours on low. Both are warm/cool units, both use a selected sensor-based Auto target and separate cool-only Sleep mode, and both have the same published 215–430-square-foot range. The larger 600S tank may change how often you refill; its maker-stated area claim does not become wider because the tank is larger.

The 1000S changes more than reservoir volume. Its exact linked manual model LUH-M101S-WUS documents 10 liters, up to 100 hours on low, and 350 mL/h maximum cool output. It is cool-mist only, and its 300–600-square-foot manual claim differs from the 215–430-square-foot figure in a separate summary bullet on the same product page. Its main page feature/specification sections agree with the manual, but the conflicting bullet is worth keeping in view rather than hiding it.

Do you need heat, or a handset?

Choose between the 450S/600S and 1000S first by output. The 450S and 600S offer warm and cool mist; the 1000S does not have a heater. Warm output can be useful if that mode itself matters, but it also brings a separate heat setting and model-specific hot-water cautions. If warm mist is a must, do not pick the 1000S based on its large tank or marketing range.

The 1000S includes a physical remote in its package and the manual says it works within 16 feet (5 meters). The 450S manual and package list do not document one, and the 600S materials do not list a handset either. “App control” and “remote” are not interchangeable: a phone controls the 450S and 600S through VeSync, while the 1000S can offer both the handset and optional app. All three have a documented Auto routine, but the exact target-setting method and allowed settings should be checked in the manual for the model you choose.

Capacity does not erase cleaning

The larger 1000S is a tower with a 10-liter reservoir, upper-cover access, a water-inlet tank and an included stand that must be assembled with four screws. Its top-access method avoids flipping an inverted bottle, but filling still means opening the cover; moving a full tank is not the same as moving the empty 6.4-pound unit. Levoit lists the 1000S dimensions as 8.4 × 10.0 × 28.7 inches but does not label the axes, so the final number is not used here as a confirmed height.

Each model still asks for regular water handling. The 1000S manual calls for daily water changes and cleaning the tank, inlet tank and base chamber every three days. The 450S and 600S manuals also call for daily fresh water and three-day tank/base care, with extra attention to the warm-mist parts and documented accessories. All three have an aroma-pad route rather than an oil-in-the-tank method; Levoit describes the 1000S scent as light. If distilled or purified water is inconvenient, compare each manual’s water advice and the chance of mineral residue before choosing by capacity alone.

Keep source limits attached to the model

The 450S has a directly linked manual naming LUH-O451S-WUS and a current SKU of HEAPHULVSUS0049. The 1000S page and linked manual agree on one U.S. listing and manual model LUH-M101S-WUS. The 600S deserves a different caveat: the current page labels its manual LUH-O601S-KUS, while the PDF cover/specification identify LUH-O601S-WUS, and the two package lists disagree on pad and sponge counts. If an exact part or suffix matters to your purchase or service call, verify the unit label rather than borrowing identity from the neighboring OasisMist models.

Which one is likely to fit your plan?

  • Choose the 450S for a smaller warm/cool connected unit when a 4.5-liter tank and no included handset are acceptable.
  • Choose the 600S when six liters and warm/cool output matter, while accepting its unresolved manual-suffix and package-count conflict.
  • Consider the 1000S for a much larger cool-mist tower reservoir plus a physical remote, and only if its size, daily water changes, cleaning schedule and page-range conflict are acceptable.

These are manufacturer-document comparisons, not performance tests. Read the linked manual for the exact model you select, especially for placement, water, cleaning and warm-mist safety. A room-range figure describes Levoit’s stated scope; it cannot account for your room layout or replace humidity monitoring.

Put the room and upkeep together.
