Three model needs

Classic 100, 160 and 300S: three different ownership plans

The current Levoit Classic collection presents three ultrasonic models, but they are not just three tank sizes. Their fill methods, control styles, documentation and maintenance routines lead to different ownership plans. These differences matter more than a generic “bedroom” label.

Classic 100: manual dial and a stated area range

The Classic 100 has a 2.4-liter tank, manual dial, 360-degree nozzle and a manufacturer-stated effective range of 107–290 square feet. Its tank is lifted off and inverted for filling. Levoit lists up to 24 hours on low, and the manual calls for daily water changes, weekly cleaning and no dishwasher use. It suits a buyer who accepts that fill routine and wants a published range to use as a first screen; the range is not a measured promise for every room.

Classic 160: top-fill knob with limited room guidance

The Classic 160 pairs a 2.5-liter tank with top-fill and one rotary control. Its linked manual lists tank, cover, filter sponge and housing, mist tube and float as dishwasher-safe below 158°F / 70°C; the electrical base is excluded. Levoit asks for cleaning every three days. The current page does not state a room-area range, so buyers who need a maker-published square-foot threshold should treat that as unknown rather than borrowing the 100’s range. It is a distinct choice for top access and the exact parts-cleaning option, not a verified larger-room substitute.

Classic 300S: connected, automatic and larger

The Classic 300S has a six-liter top-fill tank, manual buttons, a humidity sensor with Auto Mode, VeSync app features and a designated aroma pad. Levoit claims a 215–505-square-foot range and up to 60 hours on low; neither figure is an independent result. The US manual describes a default 40–50% Auto target, app-customizable settings, timers and schedules. It also says to change water daily, clean weekly and never put the unit in a dishwasher. The model has the most documented features here, but is also the tallest and asks buyers to take on app setup if they want its connected controls.

Let one essential difference decide

For a buyer who prioritizes a basic dial and an area figure, the 100 is the straightforward reference—provided inverting the tank works. For a buyer who prioritizes top-fill plus the 160 manual’s dishwasher-safe parts list, the 160 offers a different maintenance route, with no published room-area claim. For someone who requires sensor-based Auto mode, app scheduling or the 300S aroma pad, the 300S is the only reviewed configuration that documents those functions.

None is a medical device or a guarantee of a particular indoor humidity. Check room conditions, the product’s placement directions, water guidance and the exact manual. The full assessments explain the tradeoffs: Classic 100, Classic 160 and Classic 300S.
