A useful fit for

For an existing HUL570 owner or a person checking a specific used/clearance offer who wants a 1.25-gallon ultrasonic top-fill tank, a physical output knob, a 180-degree outlet and four manual-specified dishwasher-safe removable parts. The tank can be filled at the base with a pitcher or carried to a sink.

The main tradeoff

This is an earlier model that the Honeywell-licensed store marks discontinued, not a default purchase recommendation. It requires manual humidity monitoring and regular ultrasonic-reservoir cleaning; only four named removable parts are dishwasher-safe. The room-size and run-time labels conflict or lack numbers, no low-setting runtime is established, and the oil route is not confirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want to top-fill in place or remove the tank for a sink refill?

Yes. The HUL570-series manual documents pouring from a pitcher while the tank is on the unit or lifting the removable tank to fill it at a sink. This is not a tank that must be turned upside down; carry a full tank with two hands and support its base.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is sensor-based humidity control or a selected RH target essential?

No. The manual describes a rotary output knob and recommends checking humidity with a separate monitor; the empty-tank shutoff does not read room humidity. Choose a documented humidistat model if automatic response is essential.

Would dishwasher-safe removable parts materially simplify cleaning?

Four specific removable pieces—the Mist Outlet, Outlet Cover, Mist Chamber and Tank Cover—are identified as top-rack dishwasher-safe. The Water Tank and powered Base are not among those pieces, and the Base must not be submerged.

The Honeywell HUL570 is an earlier 1.25-gallon ultrasonic humidifier with removable top-fill tank, manual mist knob and 180-degree outlet. The manual names four removable pieces as top-rack dishwasher-safe—not the tank or powered base. Honeywell’s licensed store marks both finish offers discontinued, so this is most useful for identifying an existing unit or checking a specific used/clearance listing, not as a default current-buy recommendation.

Two different ways to refill, one manual routine

The HUL570-series manual gives a choice many small ultrasonic units do not: pour cool water from a pitcher into the tank while it sits on the base, or lift the removable tank and carry it to a sink. Either is a top-fill routine; neither requires flipping an inverted bottle. At 1.25 gallons (4.7 liters), the reservoir is larger than a half-gallon bedside unit, but a full tank is still a substantial lift. Honeywell tells owners to carry it with two hands, one on the handle and one supporting the bottom. Before filling a newly unpacked unit, install the float paddle correctly; the manual warns that a misseated float can stop water flow or cause a leak.

The two options help if you want more water capacity than a mini without committing to a sink-only routine. This is not automatic fill, and capacity alone does not establish the interval between refills; output and room conditions matter.

Manual output means the room sets the pace

A rotary power knob varies visible output; the outlet turns 180 degrees to aim mist away from a wall, bed or furniture. Neither feature senses humidity. The manual documents no target, automatic cycling, timer, app or remote. Empty-tank shutdown is not a humidistat.

Honeywell recommends checking humidity with a separate monitor, reducing the knob once comfortable, and stopping or reducing output if condensation appears. Place it on a stable, water-resistant surface at least 12 inches from a wall and four feet from bedside; the manual warns against leaving it unattended in a closed room. If automatic RH response matters, compare a true humidistat model such as the HUL588.

The useful dishwasher detail is narrow and exact

Weekly cleaning is recommended. The Mist Outlet, Outlet Cover, Mist Chamber and Tank Cover are top-rack dishwasher-safe; the tank is not in that group, and the powered base must never be submerged. Empty and refresh water daily, keep scale removal separate from disinfection, rinse thoroughly and handle the nebulizer gently. Four dishwasher-safe pieces do not make the reservoir self-cleaning.

Ultrasonic mist can carry hard-water minerals into the room as white dust. Honeywell suggests distilled water or HDC500 demineralization treatment. Both exact licensed finish pages say one cartridge is included, but the manual says only some packages include it; check an older or used unit. Replace the cartridge every 20–30 fillings or when white dust returns. It is optional mineral treatment, not a wick needed to make mist.

Room size and run time are not settled specifications

HoneywellPluggedIn labels the room “medium” and elsewhere says medium-to-large; the licensed store says medium-to-large. Neither gives square feet. Its product page says up to 36 hours without naming a setting; the store repeats 36 hours per fill but lists 24 hours on low in the details. The low-setting runtime and a numeric coverage minimum therefore remain unknown.

Dimension axes align as labeled: 13.6 inches long, 6.8 wide and 13.5 high; the licensed store lists 5.2 pounds before filling. The manufacturer says three-year warranty, while the store details say two. Check the paperwork accompanying a specific unit.

Which HUL570 variant, and what changes the match?

The manufacturer page names the HUL570B/W family. Honeywell-licensed U.S. listings identify black HUL570B (listed MPN HUL570BV1) and white HUL570W, with matching 1.25-gallon controls and the same series manual. Both store listings say discontinued. An FDA device-registry search result still shows the variants as in commercial distribution; that registry status does not overturn the exact store’s discontinued offer or establish that a particular seller has safe, complete stock. This review therefore keeps the model as an earlier reference and does not put it in default recommendations.

For an existing unit, the finder can identify its documented top-fill, ultrasonic and manual-dial routine, 180-degree outlet and named dishwasher-safe pieces. It should not satisfy an essential demand for a selected RH target, numeric coverage rating or known low-setting runtime. A separate aroma route is not documented; the manual prohibits oils in the mist outlet, reservoir and tank, so an aroma-pad request remains unsupported rather than being treated as “no oil route.” If top-fill and a dial are enough, compare the HUL585 as a current-reference top-fill alternative; it uses a similar tank size and manual control but has a separate oil pad and no dishwasher-safe parts specified in its manual. For automatic humidity response instead of manual adjustment, compare an electronic humidistat plan such as HUL588 and check its own care and variant evidence.

Exact-model and evidence note

The Honeywell HUL570B/W page links the series manual. Direct requests for the official page and its image/PDF returned HTTP 403; the linked manual and exact black/white pages from Honeywell-licensed U.S. stores are archived. The images match the variants, but the source does not identify photography versus render. The CPSC exact-name lookup was empty on October 23, 2026; this is not a guarantee for all variants or future notices. This assessment is documentation-based, not hands-on testing, personal ownership or a customer-review summary.

Paper, software and setup details

Manufacturer noise claim

Honeywell describes the unit as ultra quiet but gives no sound-pressure figure.

Manufacturer cleaning interval

Empty and refresh water daily; weekly cleaning is recommended. Follow separate scale-removal and disinfecting procedures.

Water and care limits

The manual requires the float paddle to be installed correctly before operation; it warns incorrect placement can prevent water feed or cause leakage. Fill at the unit with a pitcher or carry the removable tank to a sink; the manual says to carry a full tank using both hands, supporting its base. Four named removable components are top-rack dishwasher-safe, but not the powered base. Descaling and disinfection must be separate, the nebulizer needs gentle care, and the base must not be submerged. Hard-water users may use distilled water or the HDC500 demineralization cartridge; the manual says to replace the cartridge every 20–30 fillings or if white dust returns. The manual prohibits adding oils or inhalants to the mist outlet, reservoir or tank; it documents no separate oil pad, so the oil-route field remains unknown rather than being treated as a positive 'none' route.
