Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you need both visible cool mist and a heated warm-mist mode in the same reviewed configuration?
The DWHM13 manual specifies separate cool and warm maximum outputs of 300 and 500 mL/h; warm operation is rated at 300 W versus 26 W cool and requires the manual's heat precautions.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need the Auto target control to reach 90% on the appliance?
The DWHM13 manual documents a 30%–90% Auto target range in 5-point steps. This is a selectable ceiling, not a suggested room setting or a room-measurement guarantee.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a removable top-access tank with at least 6 L of stated capacity?
The manual gives 1.6 gallons (6 L) and shows filling the tank after removing its top cover; the exact page does not establish a runtime for that capacity.
Explore this need in the finder →Dreo’s support site files the DWHM13 under Standard Humidifier 813, while the linked U.S. manual cover says HM713 and a current Walmart item from DREO names its retail model DR-HHM013. Those labels point to the same standard cool-and-warm 6 L family, but the manufacturer has not printed a direct alias statement. Check the unit’s label before using this assessment; it is not the 813S Smart model or the earlier DR-HHM003 version.
What the DWHM13 manual actually supports
The specifications page identifies model DWHM13, a 1.6-gallon (6 L) tank, 120 V / 60 Hz input and maximum output ratings of 300 mL/h in cool mode and 500 mL/h in warm mode. It rates those modes at 26 W and 300 W respectively. That difference matters if you expect to use warm mist often: it is a heated option, not simply another low-power mist setting. The manual also warns about heat and tells you to follow its handling and cool-down precautions. The output figures are Dreo’s ratings, not independent room tests or a promise that a particular space will reach a selected humidity quickly.
The tank is accessed from the top, but refilling still involves removing the cover and lifting the tank as illustrated. On the appliance, the controls provide manual mist levels, Auto, warm/cool selection, sleep, brightness and a 0–12-hour timer. Auto permits a user-set target between 30% and 90% in 5-point increments. That broader upper limit separates the DWHM13 manual from the older Standard DWHM03 manual, which documents a 30%–80% range. A high selectable ceiling is not a suggested room setting: use a sensible target and reduce output if moisture collects on windows or nearby surfaces.
Placement is more flexible than DWHM03, but not floor placement
DWHM13’s manual asks for a flat, level, water-resistant surface with at least 30 cm of clearance from walls and major obstacles. It also says not to place the humidifier directly on carpet or the floor. The manual does not prescribe a minimum height above the floor. That differs from DWHM03’s separate 60 cm raised-surface direction, so you should not transfer one standard model’s placement rule to the other. The DWHM13 still needs a stable table or stand and space around it for airflow, filling and cleaning. The support image shows a white body and clear reservoir, but it is an image for the grouped Standard 813 family rather than a bitmap that identifies DWHM13 by code; Dreo does not say whether it is a photograph or a render.
Water, fragrance and cleaning add a real routine
Dreo’s manual recommends purified or distilled water to reduce mineral residue and shows an absorption pad to help manage scale. It permits scent only on the separate aroma pad; do not put essential oil in the tank. The illustrated pack contains an aroma pad and an absorption pad, but the manual does not establish that either should be treated as a permanent maintenance-free part. Dreo recommends descaling monthly and cleaning the aroma-pad tray weekly. It also shows cleaning the tank, water filter and base, without giving an ordinary reservoir-cleaning calendar interval. Expect to empty and clean the water path as the manual directs rather than relying on the large tank to make care occasional.
Who should choose it—and what is not established
This configuration is worth considering if you want both mist temperatures, an on-device humidity target, a roomy tank and a 12-hour timer in one standard unit. The source-backed combination can fit a buyer who wants warm operation sometimes but can place and clean a substantial reservoir. If warm mist is not a real need, compare a cool-only model instead; you would avoid paying the heat and power penalty during everyday operation. If you require phone control, a remote, or a precise minimum room-size claim, do not assume the standard DWHM13 provides them. Its manual has no app-pairing or remote-control procedure. A broad troubleshooting note mentions that performance may decline above a 215–430-square-foot interval, but it does not give one clear rated area. Runtime, dimensions and exact mist-generation technology also remain unconfirmed for this exact code.
Compare the label carefully against Dreo’s other similar names. The DWHM03 is a separate Standard 813 code with a different warm-power rating, Auto upper limit and placement instruction. The older HM713/DR-HHM003 is also a no-suffix product but has its own exact manual and retailer identity. The 813S is the Smart configuration; its connected features and specifications should not be transferred to this standard model. The Dreo support page groups several related codes, which makes the model number—not the shared silhouette or a shortened “713/813” name—the useful discriminator.
For a new listing, the directly observed retailer model string is DR-HHM013; the manufacturer support model is DWHM13 and its manual cover says HM713. The available evidence connects them through Dreo’s Standard 813 support group and its Walmart sales channel, but does not print an explicit alias line. If the seller’s nameplate differs, treat that as a different configuration until its own manual and offer are matched. The direct Walmart listing is a current U.S. route, but this review does not adopt its generated feature summary as technical evidence.

Paper, software and setup details
Manufacturer cleaning interval
Descale once a month and clean the aroma-pad tray once a week; the manual's ordinary reservoir cleaning illustrations do not set a calendar interval.
Water and care limits
Use the exact manual's water and care directions; it recommends purified or distilled water to reduce mineral residue, shows an absorption pad for scale, and prohibits oil in the water tank. Put scent only on the separate aroma pad. Set the humidifier on a flat, level water-resistant surface, leave at least 30 cm from walls/major obstacles, and do not put it directly on carpet or floor. The manual does not prescribe a minimum raised height. Warm mist can be hot; follow its heat and cleaning precautions.
