A useful fit for

A buyer with floor space who wants a large evaporative reservoir, selectable humidity target and four fan speeds, and is willing to remove the fan assembly for filling and clean a cabinet with replaceable wicks.

The main tradeoff

This is not a compact bedside tank or a quick-pour top-fill. Its 3-gallon cabinet is filled only after lifting out the fan assembly, and both 1040 wicks are required consumables. The 1,250-sq-ft and 90-hour figures are manufacturer maximum claims, not guarantees for a particular room or setting. App, timer, remote, empty shutoff, dishwasher-safe parts and oil use remain unconfirmed and fail closed if essential.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you specifically want evaporative wick operation rather than an ultrasonic visible mist?

AIRCARE identifies the 5D6700-series Mini-Console as an evaporative unit and the manual requires two 1040 SuperWicks.

Is a selected humidity target and automatic fan response essential?

The 5D6700 manual documents a 25–65% target and a cord humidistat that stops the fan when the selected level is reached.

Explore this need in the finder →
Would a 3-gallon system meet a 10-liter minimum?

The manufacturer lists a 3-gallon cabinet; the metric value shown here is a conversion, not a second maker rating.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is a maximum-area claim of at least 1,000 square feet relevant to your shortlist?

AIRCARE lists up to 1,250 square feet. Treat that as an upper maker claim, not a room test.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you require a removable bottom-fill tank?

No. The manual describes an open cabinet; unplug and remove the fan assembly, then pour water to the cabinet fill line. It is neither an inverted reservoir nor a dedicated top-fill tank.

Can an essential app, timer or oil route be assumed because the controls are digital?

No. The reviewed exact page and manual do not establish app/network control, a timer, a remote or an essential-oil route; unknowns cannot pass those essential requirements.

The AIRCARE Mini-Console listing with U.S. SKU 7V5D6 700 is a large-cabinet evaporative humidifier, not the other Mini-Console sold as MA0800. It uses two required 1040 SuperWicks, a three-gallon open reservoir and four fan speeds. Its cord-mounted humidistat supports a selected humidity target. The key ownership choice is less about a mist setting than whether you have room for a console and can tolerate lifting its fan assembly to pour water into the cabinet.

Keep the two Mini-Console identities separate

AIRCARE’s current page calls this model MINI-CONSOLE and prints the SKU as “7V5D6 700”; its linked owner guide covers all 5D6700 models. That is not the AIRCARE MA0800, even though both use the Mini-Console name. The 5D6700 listing has a 3-gallon cabinet, two 1040 SuperWicks and four fan speeds. The MA0800 is a separate configuration with a removable refill bottle, a different 2.5-gallon system capacity and a MAF2 wick. Check the product number, wick number and filling steps before ordering a replacement part or comparing manuals.

The 5D6700 is evaporative: a fan moves air through wet wicks rather than vibrating water into a visible ultrasonic plume. AIRCARE includes the two 1040 wicks the console needs to operate. It also says you can add a 1050 air filter separately; that optional accessory does not replace either wick. If avoiding recurring wick purchases is essential, compare an ultrasonic model instead and weigh that model’s separate mineral-residue and cleaning routine.

Set humidity, then let the cord sensor respond

The controls are digital buttons and a display, with four fan speeds shown as F1 through F4. The manual also documents a humidity control that lets you choose a relative-humidity target from 25% to 65%. Its humidistat is mounted on the cord; it reads the room and turns the fan off when the selected level is reached. At a 65% target, AIRCARE says the unit will run continuously. This is more specific than a simple output dial, but the placement of the sensor matters: the manual directs you to place the console on a level surface against an interior wall, at least two inches away so the cord sensor can read the room.

A control lock is documented as well. Holding the power button for five seconds locks the current fan and humidity settings, and the same long press releases it. The manual does not establish phone-app settings, a handheld remote or an appliance timer. I would not treat a display or a cord sensor as evidence for connected controls.

Refill a cabinet, not a removable bottle

The 3-gallon capacity is held in the cabinet. To refill, unplug the unit and remove its fan assembly; the manual says to pour water directly into the cabinet up to the MAX FILL LINE, never through the fan assembly. Then wait 20 minutes for the wicks to become saturated before running it. That is a deliberate, multi-step routine: it avoids carrying a full inverted tank, but it is not a fast top-up while the fan remains in place. Keep water away from the controls and motor, as the instructions emphasize.

AIRCARE lists dimensions of 14 inches high by 19 wide by 11 deep. Measure the actual placement area and allow room to lift the fan assembly, pour water and remove the unit for cleaning. The manufacturer also lists up to 1,250 square feet and a maximum runtime of up to 90 hours. Neither maximum is tied to your room, target, speed or building conditions, so neither should be treated as a guaranteed refill interval or coverage result.

Plan for wick checks and hands-on cleaning

The display’s CF reminder appears after 720 operating hours and means check the wicks; it is not an automatic replacement timer. The manual says mineral content affects wick life and recommends changing them at the beginning of each season. Harder water may require more frequent replacement. If the optional 1050 air filter is installed, that is another consumable to check separately.

Cleaning requires disassembly. Unplug first, lift out the fan assembly and wick platform, remove the wicks, empty the cabinet and clean the pieces as directed. The guide gives a 20-minute vinegar-and-water soak for scale. For disinfection it describes bleach as an alternative step, explicitly warning not to mix bleach and vinegar. Rinse and dry everything thoroughly. The reviewed manual does not identify dishwasher-safe components, so do not treat the cabinet or platform as dishwasher-compatible. It also says to store the console dry and discard used wicks before seasonal storage.

Who should shortlist it?

This 5D6700-series Mini-Console is worth comparing if you want evaporative operation, an adjustable humidity target and a three-gallon cabinet, and you have space for a floor console plus its fill-and-clean routine. It is a poor fit for someone who requires a compact bedside unit, a removable bottom-fill bottle, warm mist, a confirmed app or timer, or a documented oil route. Those missing options stay unknown rather than becoming implied by the digital panel.

For a similar family name but a different daily routine, compare the AIRCARE MA0800 review and verify the 5D6700 versus MA0800 model number before buying. Choose based on the actual reservoir, wick and setpoint routine—not on the shared “Mini-Console” label or the broad maximum-area claim.

Model evidence: the AIRCARE MINI-CONSOLE page for SKU 7V5D6 700, the archived AIRCARE support-directory entry, and the AIRCARE-authored 5D6700 Series Use and Care Manual 1B73534 (08/2022). The exact front image is from the model page’s product gallery; AIRCARE does not label it photo versus render. Area and runtime are manufacturer claims, not independent performance measurements.

Paper, software and setup details

Manufacturer cleaning interval

The manual calls for regular cleaning, check the wicks at the CF reminder after 720 operating hours, and change wicks at the beginning of each season. Water mineral content can require more frequent wick changes.

Water and care limits

Unplug before filling, moving, servicing or cleaning. Remove the fan assembly, wick platform and wicks; empty the cabinet. The manual describes a 20-minute white-vinegar soak or, as a separate disinfecting option, bleach; never mix vinegar and bleach. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Store with used wicks discarded and the unit fully dry.
