Vornado Cira 4 vs MISTIC 4 vs MISTIC 6: controls, tank and routine

Vornado’s Cira 4, MISTIC 4 and MISTIC 6 share an ultrasonic mist format, but they are not simply a small, medium and large version of one design. Their on-device controls, auto behavior, heating option, tank handling and published room-area claims vary enough to change the daily routine.

Start with the water you want to carry

Cira 4 has a one-gallon removable tank filled through the top opening. MISTIC 4’s guide specifies four liters, about 1.06 U.S. gallons, while MISTIC 6 uses a six-liter tank. Cira 4 and MISTIC 4 therefore occupy nearly the same capacity range; the Cira is not the larger model just because of its name. MISTIC 6 offers the longer refill buffer on paper, but a larger full tank also means more weight to lift. All three use a top-fill route, with their own manuals describing how to remove and seat the tank.

Decide how much control you will use

The Cira 4 is the screen-menu option: a rotary encoder selects one of three mist levels, a humidity setting, Auto mode, display brightness, a one-to-twelve-hour timer and control lock. Its guide describes set-point cycling, but does not state the full selectable humidity range. Do not assume a numeric Auto ceiling from the illustrated display.

MISTIC 4 keeps the controls more direct. Its manual identifies three manual mist levels, touch controls and indicator lights; it does not document a humidistat target or on-device timer. MISTIC 6 adds the humidity display and automatic target setting, along with a one-to-twelve-hour timer. Its manual specifies a 30–60 percent target range. Pick Cira 4 when a digital dial, display brightness and timer matter in a roughly one-gallon body; choose MISTIC 4 if manual operation is enough; choose MISTIC 6 if the six-liter reservoir or warm-mist mode is worth a larger unit.

Room and output figures need context

Vornado’s individual product pages claim up to 500 square feet for Cira 4, 400 for MISTIC 4 and 700 for MISTIC 6. Each is a maker-listed upper-area figure, not a guarantee for every ceiling, closed door, draft or connected room. The Cira page also lists up to two gallons per day and up to 24 hours on Low; MISTIC 4 lists up to 1.5 gallons a day and up to 36 hours on Low. MISTIC 6 lists up to three gallons per day and up to 48 hours on Low. These are not like-for-like independent tests. They should not be compared as if all units were tested under the same conditions.

Keep aromatherapy and cleaning model-specific

All three have a separate scent-pad route, but the exact Cira 4 guide is explicit that oil belongs on its pad only, not in the water tank; it also says the scent is subtle and not adjustable. MISTIC guides likewise describe their own scent-ready pads and water-use limits. Follow the individual instructions rather than transferring an accessory or cleaning step because a model looks similar.

Cira 4’s removable internal filter and tank are cleaned by hand; the manual says the product is not dishwasher-safe and warns against rinsing or submerging the base. MISTIC models have their own filter-care requirements. All three need regular attention to standing water, scale and surfaces. A unit that makes visible mist needs a placement with clearance from walls, electronics and absorbent material; the Cira guide specifies at least twelve inches from those objects and recommends distilled water as one way to reduce mineral dust.

A short decision path

  • Choose Cira 4 when its one-gallon top-fill tank, local digital encoder, user-selected humidity response and timer are the combination you want. Its full numeric Auto range is not confirmed in the exact guide.
  • Choose MISTIC 4 when you prefer a simpler, cool-only manual control plan and do not need a timer or Auto target.
  • Choose MISTIC 6 when warm-or-cool mist, a six-liter tank and a documented 30–60 percent Auto range matter more than compact refilling.

Before purchasing, check the exact model name and SKU in the seller’s offer, then verify current availability and the included pad/filter parts. Cira 4’s manufacturer page showed an out-of-stock state in the checked snapshot; its review remains useful for identifying that exact current listing, not as a promise that stock will return.
