Pure Enrichment PureBaby Cloud Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier (PECLDHUM) review

Pure Enrichment’s current U.S. PureBaby Cloud listing is the standalone PECLDHUM ultrasonic cool-mist humidifier. Its cloud-shaped housing and optional multicolor night light distinguish it visually, but the useful buying questions are still tank handling, room claim and care. Do not confuse this model with the separate Baby Cloud Set, which adds a portable sound machine.

Where it makes sense

The maker describes a 1.8-liter tank, an up-to-250-square-foot room claim and as much as 24 hours on the low setting; the linked PECLDHUM manual lists 15 hours on high and 24 hours on low, with up to 120 milliliters per hour output. These are published figures rather than independent performance tests. The cloud body and soft light are aimed at a bedroom or nursery, but a small visual form does not make it a sensor-controlled appliance. There is no selectable humidity target or automatic humidity mode in the page and manual I reviewed.

This is a good fit only when cool mist is sufficient and a simple manual dial is acceptable. The exact manual describes a variable mist-control knob and a direction-adjustable outlet, with a separate light control. The product page describes the light as optional and color-selectable or cycling through several colors. That separation is useful if the light should be on without mist, or mist should run without a night light. It is not a substitute for a room humidistat, phone control or timer.

Refill routine and placement

The manual’s fill sequence is a remove-and-uncap routine, not a pour-through top fill: switch the mist control off, unplug, lift off the outer cover and tank, remove the cap, fill with water, then close the cap securely before reinstalling. That makes the tank manageable at 1.8 liters, but you still have to carry and invert it. The manual asks for a firm, level surface and warns against water-sensitive furniture. A 360-degree mist outlet lets you choose direction; leave clearance and do not direct moisture at objects or appliances sensitive to water.

Auto shutoff when the water runs out is documented. The manufacturer also recommends changing its MistAire Cloud decalcification cartridge every six months for optimal performance. That is a replaceable consumable, not a washable filter or proof that tap water will leave no residue. If local water is mineral-heavy, use the manual’s cleaning guidance and consider distilled water; expect recurring hand care rather than a no-maintenance experience.

The important limitation: no oils

The PECLDHUM manual expressly says not to use essential oils with this humidifier. It gives no separate aroma pad or base-chamber scent route. That matters if an aroma feature is an essential shopping requirement: do not infer one from the product family, its soft light or the existence of a compatible decalcification cartridge. The manual calls for unplugging before cleaning, hand-cleaning the tank and base, using the supplied brush carefully, and keeping water out of the dry-air exhaust port. It does not identify dishwasher-safe parts. If you need a verified dishwasher-safe reservoir, the evidence does not establish that condition.

The product page’s coverage figure is an upper manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of a particular humidity in a large, open or leaky room. Published runtime varies by setting, water quality, room temperature and tank fill. There is no dBA figure or independent sound measurement; quietness is the maker’s description. Nor does the page establish an exact room humidity target. This model should not be chosen to deliver health outcomes; choose it for the documented format and routine.

Compare the exact package

The standalone PECLDHUM is one humidifier with its adapter, brush and manual. The Baby Cloud Set PECLDPAK is a distinct bundle: it includes a separate battery-powered sound machine as well as a humidifier component. A sound machine’s battery, timer or travel strap does not describe the humidifier’s controls. The bundle’s review is more useful if you want both devices; this standalone listing is the clearer choice if you only want the cloud humidifier.

Compared with the smaller PureBaby PEHUMGRY-WG, the Cloud page specifies a 1.8-liter tank, variable dial and multicolor light; both have maker-stated coverage up to 250 square feet, and neither is a warm-mist or Auto-humidity choice. Compared with PureBaby 3-in-1 PESPAXL-WG, it offers a matched manual and clear oil prohibition, while the 3-in-1 page claims a larger area and allows essential oil in the water tank and base but has conflicting runtime copy and no matching humidifier manual. If oil use is essential, compare only models whose exact instructions document a route; do not use oils in the Cloud.

For the questionnaire, PECLDHUM can fit a cool-mist, bottom-fill, manually adjusted need where color-changing light is welcome. It should fail a top-fill, warm-mist, automatic-humidity, app-control, essential-oil or confirmed-dishwasher requirement. If a sound machine is required, select the bundle separately and check that both exact pieces appear in the offer.
