Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would a removable top-fill tank let you avoid turning over the tank at every refill?
AIRCARE calls this exact PILLAR listing a removable top-fill design; the 1.7-gallon tank size is a separate handling tradeoff.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you want a selected humidity target rather than a fixed output dial?
The 1B73531 manual lets you set 25–65%; mist pauses at the target and resumes below it. Setting 65% runs continuously.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the 750-square-foot maker claim enough for the room you want to treat?
AIRCARE says up to 750 square feet. The figure is an upper manufacturer claim, not a measured guarantee for a divided or drafty space.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a handset or app setting rather than on-device buttons alone?
The exact package and manual document an included CR2025 handheld remote. The maker does not document a phone app or network control; this plan satisfies remote operation, not phone connectivity.
Explore this need in the finder →Is heated warm mist essential?
The exact page and manual identify ultrasonic cool mist; no heater or warm-mist plan is documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Must dishwasher-safe removable parts be documented for this model?
The manual gives hand-cleaning instructions but does not certify parts for a dishwasher. Unknown compatibility cannot meet this requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a manufacturer-described personal-zone humidifier?
AIRCARE describes the PILLAR as a room humidifier with up-to-750-square-foot coverage; a personal-radius use case is not documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Does a 6-liter tank minimum fit, while 7 liters would be too large or unnecessary?
AIRCARE lists 1.7 U.S. gallons; 6.435 liters is a conversion, not a separate maker rating.
Explore this need in the finder →The AIRCARE PILLAR PU320DDWD-EC is a tall, narrow ultrasonic cool-mist humidifier with a removable top-fill tank, a user-selected humidity target and an included handheld remote. Its 1.7-gallon reservoir and 27-inch height make it a floor-standing room appliance, not a tiny desk mister. It is worth considering when you want more control than a manual mist dial but do not need heated mist or phone-app operation.

More than three fixed mist levels
The front display and buttons offer three mist-output levels, but the PILLAR's more useful distinction is its humidistat. AIRCARE's 1B73531 guide says you can set relative humidity from 25% to 65%. Below the highest setting, output pauses when the selected humidity is reached and resumes after the room reading falls below it. At 65%, the unit runs continuously. That provides an actual sensor-responsive plan—not just a timer or a dial that changes mist volume.
The unit alternates room temperature and relative-humidity readings on its display. The package also includes a handheld remote with a CR2025 battery; the guide shows the remote controlling mist, target and timer settings. The timer offers 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. This makes it a plausible choice if reaching across a room to change settings matters. I would not buy it expecting a phone app: neither the exact page nor manual documents Wi-Fi or app control. The remote is a separate kind of convenience.
A narrow footprint, with realistic capacity limits
AIRCARE lists a 1.7-gallon tank, up to 750 square feet of coverage and a maximum runtime of up to 21 hours. The capacity is about 6.4 liters by unit conversion. The maker does not attach the runtime figure to a particular mist level, humidity target or room condition, so it should not become a promise that the PILLAR will run all night on a high setting. Likewise, 750 square feet is an upper-area claim, not a test of your particular room. Closed doors, ceiling height, air leakage and layout can change what one unit can do.
At 27 inches high and 8 inches wide by 8 inches deep, it takes little floor width for a tall appliance. That geometry is useful where a broader console will not fit, but check the height under shelves and place it where a cord and refilling will not become a trip hazard. The manual says to set the base level, leave at least two inches from the wall and avoid positioning it under a window. Because this is ultrasonic, it emits a visible fine mist; aim the outlet away from electronics and furnishings rather than letting droplets collect nearby.
Cartridge and cleaning are part of ownership
The PILLAR is called filterless, but that does not mean there is nothing to replace. One DC4003PK demineralization cartridge is included. AIRCARE says it can help limit mineral dust, and the manual calls for a replacement every 60 to 90 days. Water minerals still vary, so keep the cartridge and cleaning plan in mind if you use hard water. The manual specifically says not to use a water softener.
For cleaning, AIRCARE instructs owners to unplug the appliance, remove the tank and drain both tank and base, then use a warm-water-and-vinegar mixture (half a tank with 2½ cups of white vinegar) for a 20-minute soak. Wipe the base and tank, rinse thoroughly and dry; do not let liquid enter the air intake. It is a hands-on task, and the manual does not certify dishwasher-safe components. If dishwasher cleaning is essential, choose a model whose exact instructions name the permitted parts.
Keep scent and safety separate from the water
A separate oil tray and pad are included for a few drops of essential oil. The manual explicitly says not to put oil, medication or aroma additives in the water tank. The PILLAR makes cool mist; it is not a warm-mist or steam choice. AIRCARE instructs owners to unplug before moving, filling, servicing or cleaning, to use clean cool water, and not to pour directly into the base or get the controls and motor wet. When the tank empties, the unit beeps, shows a red water-drop indicator and shuts off until refilled.
Who should choose it?
Choose the PILLAR if a removable top-fill 1.7-gallon tank, a 25–65% target, room-side remote and timer form a useful combination, and a tall 8-inch-wide design fits your room. Skip it if warm mist is essential, if you specifically want a phone-connected humidifier, or if a no-cartridge/no-cleaning routine is more important than the adjustable target. A simpler AIRCARE AURORA is a smaller ultrasonic alternative with a manual output dial and an inverted bottom-fill tank; a connected dual-mist model such as Levoit OasisMist 450S is a better comparison when app settings or warm mist matter. Compare the actual fill routine and care requirements, not just area claims.

Regular cleaning is recommended; the manual gives a 20-minute warm-water/vinegar cleaning sequence and tells owners to rinse and dry thoroughly. It does not prescribe a calendar interval. Replace DC4003PK every 60–90 days.
Water and care limits
Unplug before moving, filling or cleaning. Manual: half-fill tank with warm water and 2½ cups white vinegar, let tank/base sit 20 minutes, wipe, rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not let liquid enter the air intake; do not pour water directly into the base; do not use a water softener.
