AIRCARE / Essick Air E35000 (2016 manual configuration) review

A tabletop evaporative humidifier documented by the March 2016 E35000 guide: one SGL1040 wick, two fan speeds, an adjustable analog humidistat and a maker-stated 800-square-foot ceiling under tight-construction conditions. Keep the guide number with the unit; an earlier manual using the same spaced model code reports different capacity and wattage.

Reference only: this page describes the E35000 configuration in guide 1B72855 (March 2016), not every unit with an E35 000 label. The current AIRCARE support directory lists the code with its SGL1040 wick family, but does not establish a present humidifier offer. A July 2009 guide with the same model code reports conflicting capacity, wattage and wick notation; check the manual number on the unit.

A useful fit for

A practical reference for an owner whose exact manual is 1B72855 (March 2016) and who wants fan-driven evaporation, two speeds, an adjustable analog humidistat and a pour-in tabletop base. Its manual-listed 1.2 gallons and 800-square-foot tight-construction ceiling are version-specific manufacturer claims, not performance measurements.

The main tradeoff

Refilling requires switching off and unplugging, lifting the electrical chassis and pouring into the base; the manual says the unit keeps running when empty. One SGL1040 wick needs regular care. A 2009 guide for the same model-code family disagrees on capacity, wattage and wick notation, so do not generalize these facts to a unit without manual 1B72855. No current exact purchase offer is established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does a cool evaporative tabletop unit with an adjustable analog humidistat fit, or is heated warm mist essential?

The 2016 guide defines wick-driven evaporation and an adjustable humidistat; it does not offer a heater. A warm-mist requirement is incompatible.

Is pour-in access from above acceptable if the electrical chassis must be lifted first?

The guide directs the owner to lift the chassis and pour into the base. That is top-access fill, not an inverted tank, but it is not refill-in-place.

Does the exact unit use the 2016 guide before relying on its 1.2-gallon figure?

The 2016 guide lists 1.2 gallons; an older manual under the same E35 000 code lists 2 gallons. The manual number matters for a size requirement.

The AIRCARE/Essick Air E35000 is a small evaporative tabletop unit in the manufacturer’s March 2016 guide: a single SGL1040 wick, two fan speeds, an adjustable analog humidistat and a maker-stated “up to 800 sq. ft.” claim under tight-construction conditions. This assessment is tied to guide 1B72855, not every unit carrying the E35000 code. An older 2009 guide reports materially different capacity and wattage, so check the manual number on an existing unit before applying those figures.

First match the manual to the unit

“E35000” alone is not enough for every specification. The AIRCARE/Essick Air Use and Care Guide numbered 1B72855 and dated March 2016 identifies model E35000 as a tabletop evaporative humidifier. Its specification table lists 1.2 gallons of water capacity, 60 watts, 120 volts, two fan speeds and one SGL1040 wick. An earlier Essick Air guide, 1B71933 dated July 2009, uses the spaced model label “E35 000” and lists a two-gallon unit capacity, 90 watts and a 1040 wick. The code and form factor are similar, but those are not interchangeable specifications. This page describes the 2016 guide-defined configuration and flags the older document rather than silently merging them.

AIRCARE’s current support directory still places E35000 among humidifier models compatible with the SGL1040 Super Wick. That supports the maintenance link, not a current humidifier sale. The observed U.S. product collection has no E35000 card or exact product page, so this is an ownership reference, not a new-purchase recommendation. No present stock, recall clearance or exact retail offer is inferred.

What the 2016 configuration does well

The wick draws in dry air, adds moisture by evaporation and retains minerals in the wick rather than producing an ultrasonic plume. That makes the E35000 a useful reference for someone who wants a simple cool-air tabletop design, not visible mist or a heated warm-mist mode. The built-in analog hygrometer displays room humidity, while the adjustable humidistat gives a manual humidity setting. The guide does not publish numeric adjustment endpoints, so an essential percentage range should not be assumed. It also advises lowering the setting if condensation appears and keeping room humidity at or below 50 percent.

The manual’s “up to 800 square feet” figure is specifically based on tight construction and an eight-foot ceiling. It is a manufacturer claim, not a test result or a promise for a drafty, open-plan room. Treat the rating as an upper reference and use the local gauge and room conditions to adjust operation. The compact tabletop form is easier to place than a console, but the manufacturer still calls for a level, firm surface, at least four inches from walls or curtains, and clearance from heat registers.

Refilling and upkeep are part of ownership

The 2016 guide’s pour-in routine is not “fill it while everything stays assembled.” Turn the unit off and unplug it, lift the electrical chassis from the base, position the wick in its rear notch, and pour water into the open base only to the MAX FILL line. Keep water off the motor and controls. This is top-access fill without inverting a removable jug, but it takes a little disassembly each time; it is not a hands-free or tank-at-the-sink refill.

Do not expect an empty-water shutdown: the guide explicitly says the unit continues running when the reservoir is out of water. A separate low-water warning is not established by this manual. The single SGL1040 wick is a consumable, not a filter-free design. AIRCARE recommends changing it at the start of each season and after about 30 to 60 days of operation, sooner in hard-water conditions, and cleaning the unit when changing the wick. The 2016 guide does not identify a dishwasher-safe component. Although the older 2009 guide describes a removable dishwasher-safe base, do not apply that instruction to a unit without confirming its manual and base.

How questionnaire choices change the fit

For the 2016 manual-defined setup, evaporative operation, two fan speeds, pour-in access and an adjustable analog humidistat are documented. A requirement for warm mist fails. A true bottom-fill requirement also fails because there is no inverted tank. If a seated top-fill is essential, read the wording carefully: the E35000 does not fill fully assembled, but its base is poured into from above after removing the chassis. The 1.2-gallon capacity and 800-square-foot ceiling can be used only when the manual on the unit matches 1B72855. The old guide’s different figures must not satisfy a size requirement for an unidentified E35000. App, remote, timer, oil use and dishwasher status are not confirmed for the 2016 version; unknown features cannot pass an essential filter. Because no current exact sales offer was verified, none of these technical matches should place this reference in a buying shortlist.

What to compare instead

If you want a current AIRCARE tabletop with a confirmed product page, compare the TABLE-TOP / 7V7D6 100 (product-page route 7D6100). Its current page and guide describe a two-gallon bottle, digital display, four fan speeds and up to 1,000 square feet; its larger refill capacity and digital controls are real differences, not proof that it replaces an E35000 part-for-part. Both exact records point to the SGL1040 wick family, but the E35000’s own guide number still matters. For an existing unit, use its rating plate and manual before ordering parts; for a new purchase, evaluate a currently offered configuration rather than relying on this historical support listing.

Evidence: AIRCARE’s support directory; manufacturer-issued E35000 guide 1B72855 (March 2016); and the older Essick Air guide 1B71933 (July 2009), cited only to disclose a specification conflict. The schematic above is rendered from page 3 of the 2016 guide. Area and output claims are manufacturer statements, not independent performance measurements.

Paper, software and setup details

Manufacturer cleaning interval

The 2016 guide recommends changing the SGL1040 wick at the start of each season and after about 30–60 days of operation; hard water may require earlier replacement. Clean the unit when changing the wick.

Water and care limits

The guide says the unit continues running when out of water. Turn off and unplug before filling or servicing; keep water off the motor and electrical chassis. Dishwasher safety is not established for this 2016 manual configuration.
