Build a shortlist

Find a humidifier for the room and the routine.

Choose only the constraints that would rule a model out. Ordinary decisions come first; numeric limits are optional. A missing specification will not be treated as proof that a model meets your requirement.

Room-area values come from manufacturer claims. Check the exact manual, room conditions and water-resistant placement before use.

Choose only a feature that would change your shortlist.

Earlier products are not default buying recommendations. Verify exact label, condition, included parts, return terms and current safety information for a specific offer.

Top-fill still involves removing covers or parts and cleaning the reservoir as the manual directs.

Evaporative models move air through a wet filter; ultrasonic models emit mist; the Canopy Portable uses a distinct maker-described combination of misting and fan evaporation. Unknown or unclassified technology never satisfies a chosen essential method.

A UV stage is not a guarantee that the room or appliance is sterile and does not replace cleaning, water changes or lamp maintenance.

This is not the same as a timer or remote on/off control.

This named mode is not the same as choosing a fan speed or using a generic humidistat. Check whether a model disables Continuous or Turbo while it is active.

This describes a day/night fan-speed choice, not humidity sensing. Canopy 2.0 uses Low when lit and Medium when dark; a separate hygrometer does not control it.

Some models set a target on the appliance rather than in the app. A fixed sensor preset is different from choosing the cutoff yourself.

Continuous output is distinct from sensor-based target control and may use water faster; it does not mean the maker promises a fixed runtime.

Choose Yes when phone-app settings are essential. Choose No only if you specifically want an operating plan without app/network control; models with unknown connectivity are not treated as app-free.

A physical timer differs from app schedules or a manual on/off switch. Check the exact model manual for its available intervals.

Follow the exact model instructions, including the owner manual when available. Tank, base-chamber, pad, stone, steam-chimney cup and separate heated-cup routes are not interchangeable; never put oil in the water unless the exact-model instructions allow it.

This never means the powered base is dishwasher-safe. Follow the exact model’s manual or care guide for the permitted parts and rack placement.

Bottom-fill requires the tank to be handled and inverted; compare this with a top-access reservoir.

A rotating outlet changes where mist is aimed; it does not replace safe placement or humidity control.

Warm mist adds heat, energy use, wait time and cool-down precautions; follow the exact manual.

A phone app is not a physical handset, and an image does not establish package contents.

A personal-radius claim is not a room-area rating. Unknown or whole-room-only designs do not satisfy this requirement.

Battery runtime depends on output setting. A battery-capable product also needs a compatible charger for refill/recharge.

This is a controlled but non-color light. It is different from a color-changing tank light; unknown lighting does not meet the essential requirement.

An illuminated indicator is not the same as a color-changing tank light. A maker-documented light feature may be switched off; unknown lighting does not meet this essential requirement.
