Dreo comparison
Dreo Humidifier 311 vs 311S: verify the listing before choosing
Dreo’s U.S. collection has two separate non-S 311 listings and two 311S-named listings. The product titles alone are not enough to match a manual, replacement filter or control plan. Compare the product record and SKU before choosing; the four pages below are distinct listing records, not finish options for one universal model. Shared tank capacity or numbering does not establish shared hardware or accessory fit.
HM311 4L / DR-HHM001: separate standard listing record
The collection also links to Dreo’s HM311 4L page, product record 8047873851554, with White, Blue, Black and Grey SKUs in the 10-16001 range. A model-labeled manual transcription identifies DR-HHM001 and documents a standard three-level, cool-mist routine with Manual, Sleep and light controls, a separate aroma pad, and no model-specific humidistat target or app routine. Dreo’s page itself lists a User Manual in the box but does not link the manual or name its model code; the text available through ManualsLib is a mirror, not an official Dreo-host PDF. The HM311 record remains distinct from the later Humidifier 311 product record 9305389236386 and from Smart HM311S / DR-HHM001S. Do not carry the HM311S manual’s app functions or the later 311 listing’s warm-mist claims into this assessment.
The older HM311 record lists a 4-liter top-fill ultrasonic cool-mist appliance, 300-square-foot maker area, 28 dB, three manual mist levels and a separate aroma pad. Its product-record marketing copy says “up to 32 hours,” while the online technical specification block omits runtime conditions. The claims do not establish a setting-specific refill interval. This configuration is the better match when you want local buttons and basic manual output, not selectable humidity targeting, a timer, warm mist or app control.
Humidifier 311 (2nd Gen.): standard controls
The current Dreo Humidifier 311 record has Black SKU 10-160011-024 and White SKU 10-160011-023. Its U.S. specification table describes ultrasonic atomization, a 4-liter tank, top filling, three mist levels and selectable cool- and warm-mist output. It lists on-device Auto control, a 30–90% target range, humidity detection, a night light, a timer, a 300-square-foot area rating and 100–250 mL/h output. The page does not break output down by mode and contradicts itself on maximum runtime (36 versus 40 hours).
Dreo’s official support entry for Standard Humidifier 311 (2nd Gen.) identifies DR-HHM021 and links a U.S. manual. That guide confirms 30–90% targets in five-point steps and an on-device timer adjustable from zero to 12 hours. It also warns against running the humidifier in a room above 60% relative humidity, so the selectable 90% ceiling should not be mistaken for a routine target. The manual describes low/medium/high mist, Auto and light controls but does not explain the sales page’s warm-mist mode. The retailer record itself does not print the model code; the support title and image are a model-level match, not a SKU-to-code table. That is an important documentation caveat if warm mist is your deciding feature.
Humidifier 311S (2nd Gen.): connected Smart controls
The current Humidifier 311S page has its own product record: White 10-160211-001 and Black 10-160211-002. The matching Dreo support entry calls it Smart Humidifier 311S (2nd Gen.), model DR-HHM021S, and links a U.S. manual. That guide confirms Dreo-app control, Alexa/Google Home setup and a selectable 30–90% target in five-point steps. It repeats the warning not to run the unit in a room already above 60% relative humidity. The sales page lists a four-liter tank, top fill, 100–250 mL/h, up to 40 hours, target-responsive Auto, an aroma pad and optional cartridge compatibility. It still gives no room-area or noise claim, and neither the listing nor manual establishes mist technology. A timer icon appears, but no physical timer setting or interval is documented.
“Smart Humidifier HM311S 4L”: a third listing
The separate Dreo page titled “Smart Humidifier HM311S 4L” has a distinct SKU family beginning 10-16001 and a Dreo-authored manual observation that names DR-HHM001S. That page documents app and voice control, an ultrasonic cool-mist plan and a 30-degree nozzle; it also lists 300 square feet, 28 dB and 26 W. Its page and comparison material do not agree consistently on runtime or Auto details, so those uncertainties remain in its own assessment. Do not carry these features over to either of the other 311 listings just because the number and capacity are similar.
Make the model label do the work
- For the current model’s exact support code, distinguish standard 311 (2nd Gen.) DR-HHM021 from Smart 311S (2nd Gen.) DR-HHM021S. The sales pages show different current SKU families but do not print those support codes.
- For warm mist, only the current standard 311 sales page explicitly lists cool and warm output. Its matching support manual does not explain warm-mode selection, so confirm that operation against the exact unit’s included instructions.
- For app control, the DR-HHM021S guide documents Dreo-app and voice-assistant setup. Its RGB-light feature is not the only supported app function; do not transfer that connected plan to the standard 311 or the older HM311S without checking the exact model.
- For an exact HM311S label or DR-HHM001S manual, use the Smart Humidifier HM311S assessment, not a 311 or current 311S listing.
- For a replacement filter or cartridge, compare the full model and SKU with the accessory compatibility page before ordering. A shared tank size is not proof of a shared cartridge or aroma pad.
- Do not compare their runtime numbers as though they came from one test. The standard 311 page contradicts itself; the other two listings have their own conditions and documentation gaps.
If a smaller, well-documented cool-mist unit is acceptable, compare the standard HM524’s manual-supported routine. Choose connected control or the standard touch-panel setup before looking at lighting, and do not assume a manufacturer-settable target means every setting is a suitable room target. Keep the appliance label, exact SKU and guide together for support or replacement-part questions; model numbers that differ by a generation suffix are not accessory-compatibility evidence.
